Job Summary:
The Engineering Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales of technical or engineering products and solutions by combining strong engineering knowledge with sales and business development skills. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, supporting the sales team with technical expertise, and achieving revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target industries. Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals. Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers.
2. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors. Understand customer requirements and propose appropriate technical solutions. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
3. Technical Support & Solution Selling: Provide technical consultation to customers regarding engineering products or services. Work closely with engineering, design, and production teams to develop customised solutions. Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and tender documents.
4. Team Management: Lead and mentor the sales engineering team. Set sales targets and monitor team performance. Provide training on technical products and sales techniques.
5. Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies. Provide insights to management for product improvements and new opportunities.
6. Reporting & Coordination: Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline updates. Coordinate with internal departments such as engineering, production, and finance. Ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
