Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Production Manager to oversee and manage the entire production process of our Bentonite Mineral Manufacturing Plant. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient plant operations, achieving production targets, maintaining product quality, optimising resources, and implementing safety standards while driving continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Plan, organise, and monitor daily production activities to achieve production targets.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
- Monitor grinding, drying, pulverising, screening, blending, and packing operations.
- Develop production schedules and coordinate with maintenance, quality, and dispatch teams.
- Minimise downtime and maximise plant productivity.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and reduce production costs.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Monitor production efficiency and take corrective actions where required.
- Optimise plant performance and resource utilisation.
Quality Control
- Ensure production meets customer specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Laboratory teams for product testing and compliance.
- Maintain consistency in product quality and process parameters.
Team Management
- Lead, train, and supervise production supervisors, operators, and plant workers.
- Conduct performance reviews and skill development programs.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, discipline, and accountability.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to manufacturing operations.
Inventory & Resource Management
- Monitor consumption of raw materials, packing materials, and consumables.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores departments to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Control production wastage and improve material recovery.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Analyse production data and present performance reports to management.
- Maintain production records, SOPs, and operational documentation.
