Description:
Laboratory experience, preferably in a mining, minerals processing, or metallurgical environment. Experience with instrumental analytical techniques (e.g., AAS, ICP, XRF). Familiarity with mineral sample preparation and digestion techniques (e.g., aqua regia, fire assay, fusion). Strong understanding of laboratory QA/QC principles and safety practices. Good organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is an advantage. Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis of mineral ores, concentrates, tailings, and other geological materials. Conduct wet chemistry and instrumental analysis using techniques such as AAS, ICP-OES/MS, XRF, and titration. Prepare and handle samples according to strict safety and QA/QC protocols. Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests, observations, and results. Ensure compliance with company procedures, environmental standards, and health & safety regulations. Assist in the development and validation of new analytical methods and procedures. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Analyze process samples to support plant operations and optimize recovery and efficiency. Collaborate with geology, metallurgy, and operations teams to interpret data and provide technical input. Participate in audits, inter-laboratory testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage chemical inventory, waste disposal, and lab housekeeping tasks.
