Name: Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer
Role: Design Engineer (R&D)
Industry: Manufacturing unit
Location: Udaipur (Rajasthan)
Job Type: Full Time
Experience: 4- 8 years
Skills: 3D CAD software, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, NX, Sheet metal, Stamping & Plastics Design.
Salary: Best in the industry
Education: BTech/Diploma (Mechanical)
Description:
5 + years in mechanical design, including 3+ years focused on sheet- metal and stamping plus significant exposure to injection-molded plastics.Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of progressive-die, deep-draw, and brake-press operations (bend allowances, spring-back, blank-developments). Plastic part design for injection moulding: knit-line management, gate & runner strategies, draft management, sink/warp prevention. Tooling fundamentals—punch/die metallurgy, press tonnage calculations, GD&T, tolerance stack analysis in 1-D and 3-D. Hands-on with FEA (static, buckling, forming simulations). Software: Expert in at least one major CAD platform (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or CATIA). lead the end-to-end mechanical development of complex sheet-metal, stamped-metal, and injection-moulded plastic components—from concept and DFM/DFT analysis through tooling, validation, and production launch. You will own detailed 3-D design, tolerance, stack-up analysis, and supplier engagement for high- volume parts that rely on bending, pressing, and progressive-die stamping operations. Acting as a subject-matter expert. Translate product requirements into manufacturable mechanical architectures; evaluate materials, gauge selection, and joining strategies for sheet-metal and plastics.Create 3-D models and 2-D drawings with fully-defined GD&T. Perform tolerance stack-ups, FEA for forming/deflection, and design studies for cost & weight. Specify bend radii, punch-to-die clearances, and draft angles per process capability.
