Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for our Calcined Kaolin manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum equipment availability, improve plant reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous production through effective maintenance planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for all mechanical equipment.
- Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of rotary kilns, calciners, crushers, ball mills, pulverisers, classifiers, conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, feeders, blowers, dust collection systems, and packing equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures to minimise production downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules in coordination with the production team.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors during shutdowns and maintenance activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain lubrication schedules and ensure proper alignment, balancing, and condition monitoring of rotating equipment.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with the purchase department for timely procurement of critical spares.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, plant SOPs, and statutory maintenance requirements.
- Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, equipment history, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Participate in plant shutdown planning, annual maintenance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, and production teams for efficient plant operation.
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new machinery and process equipment.
